Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to speak to Hollywood Beauty Specialist and beauty editor of Viva Glam Magazine, Katarina Van Derham, about Asian beauty. Katarina is a world re-known beauty specialist. When asked about her ideal concept of beauty, she stated, "I disagree with the belief that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know many people may agree with this. But there is a science behind what is attractive. And what is attractive is beauty. I know the science behind it whereas many people in the beauty industry don't.

Asian American models grace Trading cards

Asian Eye Plastic Surgery
The popularity of cosmetic treatments among Asians is evident in the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimate that Asians last year had such procedures at a rate of 5.5 treatments for every 100 people. In comparison, the rate for Latinos was 3.2 per 100 and for blacks was 2.5 per 100. The rate for whites was lower than the Asian figure, at 4.4 procedures for 100 people.

Liu Wen Debuts in China for Estee Lauder Launch
Liu Wen made her official debut as an Estee Lauder global spokesmodel in Beijing to launch the new Pure Color makeup collection. Joined by Estee Lauder executives Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President, Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President, Creative Director and Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Liu Wen was honored as the brand's latest spokesmodel at a major launch event at the prestigious Ch'ianmen 23 in Central Beijing. She was also feted at a private dinner hosted by Vogue China, before holding interviews with international and Chinese media.
