Schools:
The New School, University of Washington
Occupation:
student/Asiance!!
About Me:
hi,
I am Shannon Lin. I write articles for Asiance and it is simply best specific interest magazine for young women out there! It is the first of its kind, for Asian American women! It is becoming huge and you are lucky to read it every month as a new viewer!
About me, I live in New York City, I have been here 2.5 years and I am now in Grad School at the New School for Media Studies. I am interested in everything connected with digital media and events and glamour, the industry, beauty, and being an Asian American woman, hence, that is why I love Asiance Magazine so much!
I am originally from Seattle where the air is very fresh (maybe because of all the rain) and the trees are very green! It is a smaller, laid back place compared to New York but very special in its own way. I feel lucky to have been able to travel very much and have been to Alaska, Mexico, South America, all over Europe and of course Taiwan and japan! I simply love exploring other cultures and feel it is a big part of me.
Hobbies:
My hobbies are
reading, writing,
and drawing. I
love to draw
animals and people
in a very detailed
scene. I try to
paint but am not
so good at it,
drawing is much
easier for me!
I also have begun
to cook more and I
like to experiment
with that!
Of course, another
hobby of mine is
learning how to be
more technical on
the computer and
ways of
downloading new
interesting
movies, games,
etc.!
I enjoy decorating
and rearranging
rooms as well.
Interests:
I love to just
relax and be
surrounded by
candles or candy,
and watch movies!
I love film and
especially
gangster/drugdeali
ng movies, haha! I
now am very
intrigued by
casinos for some
reason though this
is a recent
phenomenon! I
really am
interested in the
way this world is
changing so
rapidly and
globalization is
interesting to me.
I have always been
interested in
entertainment as
well as business.
I love travel and
am interested in
nature and the
economy!
I would love to
drive across the
country before the
next few years are
over and really
explore all the
little towns and
local food and
friendly people.
Because I have
been able to
travel and feel
lucky but this
country is so huge
and I simply think
it is the most
peaceful yet
intimidating
realization that
this country has
so much open space
and interesting
heritage that we
are all a part of
even in the big
cities. Since I am
from the West
Coast this feels
very far away and
different too. But
there is so much
space between the
west and the East
that is all so
diverse and
beautiful!
Speaking of the
East, there is so
much interesting
beauty when East
meets West.
That's why its
great to have a
magazine like
Asiance that
captures this
essence in its
themes!
