There are great Asian women who are achiever in academics, business and all other fields. No all who married to whites are like that. They are independent and sincere, responsible and in real life elegance (the educated, intelligent type. Her education is only high school and most of her learning are from coupling men, in a entertaining sense she is successful (in making you like it and so making your money) but it is too far from representing who we really are.

Wow, what a review you can truly feel that the author has a passion for both the movie “Clean” and a true respect for Maggie Cheung. I enjoyed how she went deeper into the actors lives and educated us as to how Ms. Cheung is working hard to rebel against the mainstream view of the Asian woman as the docile helpless maiden in distress posing on the newest modified Honda or as the quiet research assistants. As the father of a young Asian soon to be woman, I feel that we are lacking in the area of strong Asian women role models. As any of you know who are married to Asian woman they are anything but docile helpless maiden in distress. It is truly nice to discover a writer that points out the strong role models that are out there for our girls growing up now in a country that tends to see the as only import car models or research . Thank You Ms. L Nguygen for looking out for my daughter and the rest of the first generation Asian soon to be women.

Maggie Cheung was at the 28th Asian American International Film Festival ('05) in NY, organized by Asian CineVision and held at the Asia Society. I got to meet her at the Opening Night presentation of CLEAN and the gala that followed. Maggie was humble, gracious, honest, humorous, and down to earth. She had no airs and mingled with the guests at the gala easily. She is truly a lady with class and grace. I wonder who will be AAIFF's star this year...

I LOVE Maggie Cheung. Great article! And keep up the great work! I've been waiting for a magazine like this to come around forever!

Maggie is one of the few Asian American actresses that hasnt compromised her beliefs for Hollywood. I admire her alot as most of my Asian American friends do.

'Clean' is an amazing film. I caught it last year in the UK, and was moved greatly. I am so glad Maggie Cheung (who I have admired for a while) was awarded for this role at Cannes last year, because this film is not getting the attention it deserves in the U.S. (not sure about elsewhere). Of course, it's not a film that general American audiences would be interested in, or find appealing, anyway, and therein lies its strength. A movie and performances (Nolte included) that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

maggie is one and only, in terms of the mix of beauty, performance and style.
