After reading this article I was like, hey that’s me, that’s me. I like to think that we are lucky to be given the option to actually figure out & choose what profession we want to get into. We are lucky we just don’t know it.

good read.

thanks

I love your article! and I'm sorry my dear barnes and noble rejected you. I can't say I can sympathize with the family situation, seeing as I somehow ended up with super hip liberal parents out of conservative italian and british families, but kudos to you for breaking the mold and following your heart.

There is some reassurance to knowing that quarter-life crisis is bigger boat than I had first thought. In the twenty five years of learning, experiencing, and constant readjustment of expectations I can only hope that things will be downhill from here. However, it's been more of a crazy up and down spiral than anything. I hit 26 in a few months and that has prompted me to reflect on what really needs to be done to say that I have arrived. After all, isn't that what every individual really strives for?

Like many people with Asian roots we are primed at a very young age to continue the legacy of our parents. It may not be for everyone, but there is something to take away from not having to start at square one. I cannot imagine doing anything other than applying myself in what my parents had started. Regardless, outside of my career I still find myself trying new things and figuring things out. It's a daily battle, but at the end of the day I'm still grateful for all the wrong turns, heartaches, and off-the-chart cortisol levels. :p
