Hines Ward arrested for DUI

The Korean-born former MVP champion and occasional TV personality, 35, was booked into the DeKalb County jail in Atlanta’s suburbs at 3.41am local time and charged with drunk driving.

The former University of Georgia star was released on a $1,000 bond.

Steelers initially refused to comment on the news.

An advocate for Asian-Americans in the NFL and a member of President Obama’s Asian American and Pacific Islanders advisory commission, Ward was born in Seoul to an American father and Korean mother and has a host of business enterprises outside football, including a bar in Pittsburgh.

He also won season 12 of TV dance competition Dancing With The Stars with dance partner Kym Johnson.
