I love the steady yet comfortable weather that Toronto has been getting but at the same time, the rain is kind of a downer. Aside from the rain, the point of this blog is just say what is on my mind. Recently, it's been very difficult to trust people. Well the ones particularly at school. One of my biggest pet peeve is when people make a huge deal about doing well in school and life in general but when it comes down to getting work done, what kind of effort is being shown? None the less, very little or none at all. Some of these so-called-friends I've made seem so fake or are too absorbed with other details of their lives way too much that it blinds their sight. I've been there and done that. I let my personal life get in my way and where did it get me? Nowhere at all but here I am; I was graced with a second chance to do it properly. I think every asian kid will know what I am talking about when I say that my parents FLIPPED out when I told them that I wasn't going back to University until a later time. And just to let you know, I am the youngest of 4 kids and I have a bunch of cousins and other family members that are currently going for their masters or already have it, or have their PhD's. Pure competition. My parents expectations for me are definitely not normal. It's all about face and status. Ugh, how sick I am about the "you're-whole-status-in-the-society-matters" outlook. I get it but why force your kid to comply to something that they might just rebel against? And as for my friends at school, if they had my parents...their poor performance is definitely unacceptable. Which leads me being the "leader" or I guess role model for everybody else. I'm no rocket scientist or genius; all I do is study and work hard for my grades. Alas, taking 6 courses during the summer is heavy but when can I do when it's considered as my second semester. Exams are over next week and I will have some time off to relax. On another note, yesterday was me and my boyfriend's 10 months. He is what makes me happy and sane when the days are grey and my world is upside down. He keeps me safe, keeps me smiling and laughing. Most importantly, he loves me for me. And for that, there is not one thing about him that I do not love. I love every aspect of his nature and we're a match. Together forever. Well, I guess that's it for now! Toodles <3
