Music Far East Movement and Epik High on the East Coast
What an amazing lineup! Epik High, Korea's #1 hip-hop group chartered a world tour, hitting Japan, Korea and the United States. Our favorite, Far East Movement, joined Epik High on their US tour dates. Other acts that joined the tour were Beatbox DG, urban musician MYK and rapper/producer Kero One. We caught the tour as they made their way to the East Coast in NYC. See our video of the night A little bit about the artists: Epik High Epik High is without a doubt the premier hip hop group in Korea. Six years after their debut, Epik High's critically acclaimed album and track releases continue to top the charts and garner unanimous praise from both the music industry veterans and fans alike. Their lyrical ability, coupled with their social consciousness and a serious love for the craft, give the group unrivaled respect on the Korean music scene. www.mapthesoul.com Kero One Often compared to the likes of Common, Q-Tip and Kanye West, Kero One is a hip hop artist from the Bay Area and is the epitome of the self-made artist. After a long and arduous struggle, his first album was selected as Remix Magazine's "Best Hip Hop Album of 2006," while topping iTunes hip hop charts and garnering praise from artists like Will.i.Am and magazines such as Urb. What followed was work with hip hop legends - KRS-1, EPMD and Talib Kweli to name a few - which helped establish him as a contender on the hip hop scene. With the current release of his second album Early Believers, Kero One is fast becoming a world sensation. www.kero1.com MYK Also hailing from the Bay Area, MYK is a one-man musical powerhouse, performing as an MC, DJ, producer and instrumentalist. At a young age, he was the lead vocalist and MC for Weekend Sesh, a local band that specialized in hybrid hip hop. After the band parted ways, MYK moved to Seoul, Korea, where he was introduced to Tablo of Epik High. The two immediately connected and began writing music together. MYK is living in Korea, working on his debut album and also continuing to collaborate with artists in the US, such as Kero One, Jamie Jones of All For One and Klypso (now an engineer/producer at Aftermath). www.myspace.com/mykmusyk Without a doubt, Far East Movement was the performance of the night and it's great to see how quick and fast their fan base has grown on the East Coast. Health Emotional Costs of the Recession
The signs of the economic earthquake are everywhere: our 401(k)s are floundering, some have had to defer retirement, while others wonder how they’re going to pay for college. But it is the laid off worker that is bearing the brunt of the pain this recession has to offer. Layoffs bring a complex emotional quagmire into play—panic about the checkbook, anger against your boss, fear about being judged at interviews and guilt over being laid off.

Sex in the City Adventures in Fortune Telling (and Bars)
The Dating Experiments - Adventures in Fortune Telling (and Bars) When I was twenty, a friend’s aunt insisted on giving me a fortune reading. She considers herself to have psychic powers – a gift she insists shouldn’t go to waste – and so in addition to her day job, she charges a low fee for what she calls “energy readings” on the side. I’d never had my fortune told, and I haven’t since, so I don’t know if what happened could be considered normal.
Fashion Q&A in a down economy
Tina Tang on a down economy Dear Tina, I have noticed that a lot of designers are creating clothing in blacks and greys - probably to go with the sentiment of the current economy. I was wondering what is hot for jewelry? What do I wear with the understated clothing?
